Santa's Village, Jefferson, New Hampshire - a travel USA review by Mary M. Alward

If your kids love Santa, be sure to take them to Santa’s Village in Jefferson, New Hampshire. They will love visiting with the Jolly Old Elf and telling him what they’d like him to leave them under the Christmas tree this year.

There are a wide variety of shows and festivities to be enjoyed at Santa’s Village. At the Polar Theater, you can meet Fastidious Tinkerdoodle for hilarious fun at his show A Tinkerdoodle Christmas.

Take the kids to Elf University where, just for writing their name, they will be presented with an official Elf University Diploma. They will love taking this home and hanging it on the wall in their room. It is a great souvenir and gives kids a sense of accomplishment.

The Reindeer Ranch is a delight to both the young and the young at heart. Where else on Earth can you feed and pet a real reindeer? This can be done prior to August 15th of each year. It’s a wonderful experience to get close to these beautiful creatures.

If you need a bit of luck, stop by the Reindeer Shoe Shop where the Village Smith will bring smiles to our children’s faces by making and fitting them with a Good Luck Ring totake home as a souvenir of their visit. They will love wearing the ring and showing it to all of their friends.

Kids will love playing the Elfabet Game. Santa’s Village is the only place in the world where it can be played. Throughout the park there are 26 elves that are part of the game. If kids find them all, they are awarded a prize to take home. Be sure to keep your eyes open and be alert. It not, you’ll have to retrace your steps to find the remaining elves.

Enjoy riding in the antique cars. They’re safe for drivers of all ages. The only requirement is that kids can sit on the seat and push the accelerator. The cars run on a track to ensure there are not mishaps by beginning drivers.

Older children will love taking a turn on the bumper cars. They must be at least two years old and stand 4 feet 8 inches in order to ride. Pregnant mothers are asked to abstain for safety reasons.

The Christmas Carousel is Santa’s Village merry-go-round. Instead of the usual horses, children sit high on the back of reindeer. Who is the favorite? Why Rudolph, of course. Children must be 3 feet 6 inches to ride alone. All young children can ride if accompanied by an adult. This unique carousel will delight the very young and all those who love Santa.

If you enjoy panoramic views, take a ride on the Merry Christmas Ferris Wheel. It gives a spectacular view of Mount Washington and Santa’s Village. Children of all ages are welcome to ride with parents, but must be able to sit on the seat. This ride is not for infants.

Take a Great Humbug Adventure and ride through Scrooge’s house. When you see the humbugs, tickle them with a joy-stick and they will giggle. This is hilarious fun. This ride is dark and has slopes. Parents should use discretion when boarding kids. If your child is afraid of the dark, this ride is one to avoid.

There are many other rides and activities for youngsters at Santa’s Village. They can listen to stories, participate in games and leave their name so Santa can send them a letter at Christmas. Parents will enjoy watching kids dance with excitement at every turn. Santa’s Village is a great experience for the entire family. Be sure to visit the shops for Christmas ornaments, decorations, stockings, toys, collectibles and delightful books.

Santa’s Village is located at 528 Presidential Highway, Jefferson, New Hampshire 03583.
