In my travels of the USA, nothing seems to beat the drum louder for the love of all things Americana than Arlington Heights, Illinois. I have never been to a city filled with landmarks and places that are so distinctly American in origin.

Lincoln Park is named after the city’s largest park. The park itself boasts a wonderful zoo and a lush botanical conservatory. The area west of the park between Armitage and Diversey is fashionable and upscale. Armitage Street itself is recommended for the everyday shopping. Shopaholics craving "offbeat" fashions will have their shopping appetite satiated here too. Shopping here rivals anywhere you have traveled in the USA before.

Looking for a little bit of culture when you travel the USA? Hit downtown Chicago. There is a section of downtown affectionately known as The Loop because of the circuit formed by Chicago's elevated "L" trains. The circuit runs along Lake Street on the north, Wabash Avenue on the east, Van Buren Street on the south, and Wells Street on the west. The name, however, originally comes from 1882 when the streetcar looped the area.

The New located just south of Interstate 80 exit 93 near Ottawa, Illinois, on Hwy 71, has been serving fine Chinese food since 1978. The restaurant is well known and loved by the locals for its excellent cuisine, nice atmosphere, and very reasonable prices.
