Matignon High School – A Quality Private, Catholic School in Cambridge, Massachusetts - reviewed by Deanna Couras Goodson
Matignon High School
Back in 1987 when I was a freshman at Matignon High School, I was very intimidated by the green lockers, the huge gymnasium and the high quality of education that the school offered. I just knew that Matignon was a special place. I was glad to be there.
During my four years as a student, our awesome athletic squads in Hockey, Basketball and Football won many championships. We truly were the "Warriors" (school mascot) and proved our excellence on the playing fields of Eastern and Central Massachusetts.
Matignon was more than a school. It was a home away from home. I spent four years there that shaped my entire life. The coursework at Matignon is largely college prep with some business courses such as Economics, Computers and Accounting offered in the senior year.
Personally, I took Latin – which, despite the fact that it’s a "dead language", proved completely useful in college. I was also in honors Spanish and took 5 years of Math during my four years there! I participated in advanced placement classes in English and Calculus. I skipped Biology and know that they offer more Advanced Placement Classes now than they did then. The Advanced Placement classes helped me get into a really great university and positioned me for life outside of school too.
If you’re serious about getting a good education or giving your high-schooler one and you live in Eastern or Central Massachusetts, you should consider Matignon High School. Matignon provides a quality education in a caring and concerned Catholic setting. It’s truly an ‘education for life.’
